Mamphela Ramphele held a joint press conference with the Democratic Alliance yesterday, in which it was announced that the DA and Agang would form a “joint technical committee”, that would see Ramphele stand as the DA presidential candidate in the 2014 general elections.
Some people are unhappy about this. Most of those people are members of Agang ranging from grass roots supports through to provincial leaders and communications officials who are feeling just the slightest bit betrayed by Ramphele’s apparently sudden and unilateral decision to effectively merge with the DA.
They’re so upset, in fact, that they’re meeting right now to expel Ramphele from the party.
