Last year we gave you the happy news that MINI had released the Paceman into the wild. And thing just got a little hotter. Say, “frozen black metallic limited edition.” Say it again.
Our little bluebirds at MINI advise that a compliment of Pacemen and Countrymen are en route, finished in a limited edition frozen black metallic paint job. How limited, you ask? Only 10 vehicles will be produced in frozen black metallic for South Africa, created by using a complex manufacturing process exclusive to the BMW Group.
This special painting procedure, involves innovative technology but also encompasses a high level of manual craftsmanship, being applied for the first time by Austrian production partner Magna Steyr in Graz (the MINI Paceman and MINI Countryman plant). The surface treatment utilises the base layer for grip and corrosion protection, the colour layer as well as the clear lacquer finish. The clear finish silicates to create the matted velvet impression.
There will only be 550 units made, ever. South Africa will receive 10 of these 550 units. Six units will be the John Cooper Works Countryman and four units will be John Cooper Works Paceman.
