In September 2013, New Jersey Governer Chris Christie, a Republican, conspired against his Democrat rivals by causing major traffic problems in Fort Lee, New Jersey.
Using the pretense that they were conducting ‘a traffic study’, Christie and his cronies closed access lanes to the George Washington Bridge – one of the busiest bridges in america – thereby reducing the three-lane bridge to a one-lane bridge.
His motives are still foggy, but many suspect that this was an act of vengeance against (democrat) Fort Lee Mayor Mark Sokolich, for not supporting Christie in the 2013 New Jersey gubernatorial election.
In any case, Christie’s idiocy did inspire something good.
Jimmy Fallon and Bruce Springsteen donned some bandanas and sung that most seminal New Jersey anthem, ‘Born to Run’, but not quite as we know it.
Please enjoy Jimmy Fallon and Bruce Springsteen performing “Governor Christie Traffic Jam”.
