Shampooing seems as much a part of our daily routine as brushing teeth or drying one’s self after a shower – but some people have eschewed the practice altogether.
It’s called the ‘no-poo’ movement, and it was started by one woman, Jaquelyn Baers, who claims that she was concerned about all the “paraben, phthalates, petroleum byproducts, and other dangerous toxic chemicals” that are in shampoo.
So she ditched the pricey stuff with all the chemicals, and went the organic route – oatmeal soaps made by the hands of blind peruvian monks, you know the deal.
But that turned out to be too expensive. So she stopped shampooing completely for five years. Here she is today.
