In what looks like a scene straight from ‘The Walking Dead’, a heatwave in Queensland, Australia is so severe that it’s killed over 100,000 bats. Killed them DEAD.
RSPCA spokesperson Mark Beatty says that the heatwave has been catastrophic for bat colonies. A massive cleanup is underway, ordered by the Scenic Rim Regional council, as the bat stench is beginning to bother the locals. Locals claim that hundreds of bats were starting to decompose in bushes and trees with maggots eating the rotten flesh.
Chief Health Officer Dr Jeannette Young state that contact should still be avoided as just one touch could lead to an infection of lyssavirus. The lyssavirus can be treated with an anti-viral doses. Batman really should be paying attention to this.
Stock up on canned food guys. With America freezing over and bats dropping from the sky in Australia, surely it’s almost time for the apolcalypse?
