Amazing Pictures Of ‘World First’ Conjoined Gray Whale Calves

Believe it or not, conjoined whales are not new to science. They have been seen before in Fin whales, Sei whales and Minke whales - but conjoined gray whales have never been documented before.

Believe it or not, conjoined whales are not new to science. They have been seen before in Fin whales, Sei whales and Minke whales – but conjoined gray whales have never been documented before.

Scientists in Baja, California, discovered the twin carcass floating in Laguna Ojo de Liebre. The newborn twins were severely under-developed, which led scientists to wonder whether or not the birth or stillbirth might have claimed the life of the mother, too.

Newborn gray whales are usually between 3,6 and 5 metres long, these little guys were a meagre 2 metres.
