The world’s first bitcoin ATM, Robocoin, was installed in Canada – and now it seems to be heading in the direction of Asia.
Robocoin is a Las Vegas-based company, and word is that they’re sending eight Bitcoin ATMs over to Taiwan and Hong Kong this month. There are also rumours that a further 39 are going to be distributed across Europe and North America in March.
While no one really knows how these devices will fare in the East, they’ve been a hit in Vancouver. Within 29 days, there were 1,576 transactions made with the Bitcoin ATM, said Robocoin’s Sam Glaser.
