The new black London cab was originally unveiled in 2012, but following feedback from the Mayor of London’s office, it was altered and re-released.
Alterations included rounder headlamps and a grille that models the shape of the original London cab grille. The car’s manufacturer, Nissan, says the brand new 1.6 litre petrol-engine is cleaner and more efficient than the current diesel cabs used in the capital.
Though Japanese by name, the car was developed by Nissan’s regional European design centre in Paddington, West London, the same centre that developed the Qashqai.
Nissan will also be releasing an electric version of the car in 2015.
