Did you know jealousy is all in your head? No, seriously, science says so.
Sometimes people say that they feel stress in their neck or anxiety in their stomach, and it turns out that they’re onto something. This is according to the new Body Atlas produced by Finnish scientists which shows a heat map of where different emotions are likely to manifest in our bodies.
The researchers gathered 700 participants and invoked different emotions by showing them words, stories, movies and images, asking them to indicate where in their bodies they felt increased and decreased activity. They concluded that the results were universal as the participants were from Finland, Sweden and Thailand.
Despite being pretty damn cool, the heat map can also help diagnose and treat mood disorders like depression and anxiety.
