There are a lot of rich folk working at Google – and many of them have had to suffer extreme inconvenience simply because Google could not offer them a space to park their jets. Until now.
Work on an exclusive airport for Google employees is set to start on a 29-acre facility featuring approximately 270,000 square feet of hangar space.
Private aviation firm Signature Flight Support has a 50-year lease on the facility, which is located on one end of San Jose airport, and will operate it with a partner named Blue City Holdings.
So a large portion of San Jose’s airport is being handed over to Google. Why? Money. Google is reportedly paying Mineta San Jose a lease fee R3 billion every single year.
Every. Single. Year.
