It seems that the Internet gods have heard our prayers. It was announced today that Skyrove, in partnership with MacroLan and Café Caprice, is launching free Wi-Fi for Camps Bay.
Skyrove is aWi-Fi company in Cape Town specialising in software solutions, and will provide 100MB of data per device per day for free. Thereafter, extra data can be bought from Skyrove or one of its partners.
Skyrove, Technical Manager Rudolph Roos said about the venture:
We know that Camps Bay receives a lot of visitos, especially at the peak summer season. Having access to Gigabit fibre from MacroLan, combined with Ruckys Wireless access points that handle high density situations and BYOD particularly well, willprovide fast and reliable connections, and the system can be easily scaled to meet the demand.
In the coming weeks Skyrove will extend the network and add extra features like predictive analysis and location-based services for local businesses.
We cannot think of a better excuse to go to the beach.
