Donka Panova is a 77 year-old woman who is revered in her community for her “special talent”. Otherwise known as ‘Golden Hands’, Panova is one of the most well respected pick-pockets in Bulgaria.
What’s more, she’s been teaching hundreds of children to pick-pocket like a pro, including her 30 grand children and 12 great grand children. Loads of her graduates are now planning to travel to Britain in the New Year when restrictions on Bulgarian and Romanian migrants are lifted.
In order to gain this footage, a Mail on Sunday team travelled to Stara Zagora, Bulgaria, posing as London criminals seeking to establish links with pick-pocket groups ahead of the start of the new year, when border control regulations will ease up significantly.
Her grandson, Gospodin Panov, sits casually during the interview:
All those people in London packed on Underground trains with their arms in the air. It will be too easy!
