While the sight of someone wearing Google Glass is still strange enough to get you noticed, American Nick Starr didn’t realise it would get him kicked out of a restaurant.
The food industry is still struggling to come to terms with rapid technological growth, and it seems that Seattle-based Lost Lake Cafe decided to deal with technology by simply throwing out patrons.
Nick took to Facebook to complain about how he was treated and the restaurant quickly responded, making their policy on Google Glass quite clear:
The owner of Lost Lake Cafe, David Meinert, caused a stir back in March when he banned Google Glass at another one of his restaurants:
Part of this is a joke, to be funny on Facebook and get a reaction, but part of it is serious because we don’t let people film other people or take photos unwanted of other people in the bar because it’s kind of a private place people go.
He certainly got his reaction. The restaurant is standing behind the controversial decision, despite a mixed reaction from the community.
Spare yourself the embarrassment, and stick to a great pair of shades.
