The dog that fell the equivalent of 50 stories into the depths of Kimberley’s big hole has been successfully rescued, thanks to a dedicated ER24 team.
A team of seven officials clamoured around the edge of the hole in an attempt to help, but soon realised that only one person could abseil down to save the canine. And because it was deemed “unfeasible” to throw food down at the hapless hound, a rescue operation was quickly underway.
It is believed that the dog had been stuck down there for several days, but survived because he found a small ledge to hop onto. In the end, the whole ordeal was relatively painless, and the dog was on dry land in no time.
