So, Bafana Bafana lost a major sponsor in Puma when the atheltics company pulled out a while ago. Now, companies are scrambling to fill the place once occupied by the big cat brand.
The weirdest among the lot is an adult dating site named ‘Ashley Madison‘ – which not only allows singles to meet each other, but also actively encourages extra-marital affairs.
The site’s chief executive and founder Noel Biderman wote a letter to Danny Jordaan:
Sportsmen are famous for their cheating ways and we feel linking our dating site with this impressive club’s performance historically and tying in to its future will create a powerful partnership.
Although, SAFA spokesperson Dominic Chimhavi dismissed the offer as a marketing ploy.
We haven’t received a single letter. Anyway, the Bafana Bafana brand is a national asset and we wouldn’t want it to be associated with something that will make it a laughing stock.
