Justin Bieber may sing well enough to capture the hearts and minds of millions of teens, but we wouldn’t trust him to make sound business deals. He’s reportedly led an R11 million round of funding for RockLive – a San Francisco tech company that plans to launch a new social network this week.
According to sources, the new social network, which aims to focus more on teenagers, will be called “Shots of Me”.
“When we told [Bieber] that we were looking to create a social network for teens that really addresses what they aren’t getting on other networks, and which tries to deal with things like cyberbullying, his eyes just lit up,” RockLive chief executive John Shahidi said.
Rocklive hasn’t realeased a hell of a lot of info about the new social network, but they like to describe the app as “Your Selfie Camera”.
Nice story, bros. Good luck beating Instagram.
