The word around town is that Vanity Fair has a scathing article on Gwyneth Paltrow in the works, and she is doing absolutely everything she can to stop them publishing it. According to RadarOnline.com, she is attempting to utterly “destroy” the magazine’s reputation before her story goes to print.

Some thought that the article would be chucked away after it didn’t appear in last months issue, but insiders say the story is still very definitely going to run. Among many gossipy stories that the magazine is looking to publish in the article, it is also rumoured to dish the dirty details on Paltrow’s infidelities with Miami Hotel-Owner Jeff Soffer – which she obviously denies..

Lady Gwyneth even went so far as to send out a mass email to her friends begging them not to participate in the magazine’s expose: “If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again.”

That was a few weeks back, but she seems to be making progress, as she managed to convince George Clooney to withdraw from appearing on the magazine’s Hollywood Issue cover. She also tried to get in contact with Julia Roberts (who was to appear alongside Clooney), but had trouble on that front because Roberts is apparently close to the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Graydon Carter.

The quote they give goes, “Julia is ignoring Gwyneth, has no problem with Graydon and is happily still committed to appear on the cover of that issue”

Oh, dear.
