Being a consumer is great when you have two heavyweight tech brands fighting to the death for your money. The competition between Google and Apple is heating up – and that is totally fine by us. In response to Apple’s launch of the iPad Air and OS X Mavericks, Google released the new Nexus 5 phone, as well as their new Android operating system. But they didn’t stop there.
In a bid to get more people on Google+, they’ve dropped a new ‘Auto-Awesome’ feature – an editing application that will turn your raw video clips into stories, automatically.
What do you do to make it work? You simply record a video, hand it over to the Auto Awesome video feature, which will then integrate transitions, add backing music and chuck in some effects. It’s completely autonomous, so you don’t have to lift a finger. It uses smart editing, cutting and sequencing techniques to splice a professional-like highlight reel.
This all sounds fantastic, we’ll admit it. But it does mean you’ll have to switch to Google+ (which no one seems to be doing in any great hurry).
