The thing I love about Jeff Bridges is he comes across like The Dude, even when he’s not in character. I mean, surely The Dude would have been spotted in Observatory, at a reggae jol, rather than in Hollywood star mode when in Cape Town? That’s what Jeff did. ‘Cos he’s cool..
Check this out from citypress:
Bridges, who garnered a cult following for playing The Dude in The Big Lebowski, shunned the city’s well-heeled circles in favour of a “moerse party” in Observatory, which is considered one of the city’s more bohemian suburbs.
He was seen grooving to local reggae band The Rudimentals at a club called Trenchtown on Saturday evening. The club’s owner, Anthony Hendricks, said about 600 people – including Bridges – rocked up at the jol, with a cover charge of R20 per person. “Ja, the bar staff recognised Jeff. It was hecticly busy. It was a moerse party (sic)!”
