On Wednesday we dropped the trailer of the new film Gravity, starring Sandra Bullock and George Clooney as two lost astronauts who are stuck in space, forced to adventure into the void and find salvation. Well, during a recent press conference with director Alfonso Cuarón, a reporter asked a rather, well, silly question.
“What were the technical and human difficulties of filming in space,” asked a reporter from a Mexican TV station. “Was it very difficult, very complicated to film in space? Did the camera operators get sick?”
Had the question been posed to a director with a lesser sense of humour – he might have ignored the man. But Cuarón entertained the reporter, replying:
Well, yes, we took some cameras there aboard the Soyuz. We were in space for three-and-a-half months, I got really sick during training.
After receiving plenty of publicity for his blunder, the reporter took to twitter to answer his critics, tweeting, “Excuse me Twitter for being a professional committed to information. Don’t tell me I was the only one who had that doubt.”
Yes, Mr Mexican reporter man, yes you were.
