Aaah, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Every year it is obliged to induct a few more Rock heroes, and this year is no different. Here are the nominees for 2014.

Aaah, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. For 40 years it has stood on the North Coast Harbour of Cleveland, Ohio – a shining beacon of Rock and Roll, celebrating the lives and achievements of the genre’s most influential figures. Every year it is obliged to induct a few more Rock heroes, and this year is no different. Here are the nominees for 2014.

1.Nirvana

This won’t come as a surprise to many, as Nirvana is one of the most iconic alternative rock band of our generation – with one of the most iconic front men of all time. They’ll get in, easy.

2. Linda Ronstadt

Who?

3. Peter Gabriel

The deep, eclectic and ominous voice behind the band Genesis, 63-year-old Peter Gabriel has been at the top of his game for well over 30 years now, following his success with Genesis with his own solo career.

4. Kiss

Perhaps people best know Kiss because their uncle once got dressed up as lead singer Paul Stanley, and proceeded to lick everyone at the table when he got drunk. I know that’s how I know Kiss. Legendary band, legendary makeup.

5. LL COOL J

This one’s a bit odd. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame – for a rapper who once sung “She likes Hip-Hop and R&B / Her life time goal is to be on TV / She looking for a man that could give her a break / Like Usher or Justin Timberlake”. Don’t get us wrong, Cool J is the heat – but Rock n Roll? Really?

Head over to The Washington Post to see the rest of ’em.
