Joburg has already had their taste of Rihanna, and now it’s Cape Town’s turn. And if you’ve been in Cape Town long enough, you’ll realise just how much impact a huge gig such as this will have on the roads around the stadium. With that in mind, here’s a few tips on how to get in and get out as smoothly as possible.
V&A Waterfront:
Apparently some okes have capitalised on the construction at the V&A Waterfront, and started using it as a parking lot or thoroughfare. In simple words, DON’T DO THAT if you’re going to the gig tonight, it’s gonna be far too packed. The City of Cape Town advises that you park in the city and walk to the satdium, or use MyCiti buses.
MyCiTi details:
Standard hours of operation and fares will apply for the Civic Centre to Table View, Waterfront and Gardens routes.
You’ll be expected to use your “myconnect card” (loaded with sufficient cash dollar) to travel to the Civic Centre bus station. If you don’t have one of those cards, you can buy one at Revenue Kiosk or selected MyCiTi stations. You can also call the 24/7 Transport Information Centre on 0800 65 64 63 for more info on the cards.
There will be a few “special services” that will be provided AFTER the concert, that go back to:
Table View (trunk & feeder)
First bus leaves the Civic Centre bus station at 22:30, 23:00 and 23:30. NOTE: The bus will stop at Lagoon Beach, Woodbridge, Milnerton, Racecourse, Sunset Beach and Table View stations. But apparently if you want to stop somewhere else, you can just press the buzzer.Feeder buses will depart from Table View Station at 23:00. Last feeder buses leave Table View Station at 00:05.
FREE: When you present them with your concert ticket stub. KEEP THAT STUB.
