Jake White was announced as the new Director for Rugby at the Sharks Rugby Union in Durban about two hours ago. White begins his tenure immediately.
The World Cup-winning former Springbok coach abandoned his coaching job at the Brumbies in Canberra, apparently to spend more time with his sons who are attending Bishops (are they in Founders?) in Cape Town. So he moved to Durban. Obviously.
White may also have been motivated by missing out on the Wallaby coaching job to Ewan McKenzie – the move back to South Africa may signal an intention to get back in to international coaching.
