A man needs a new nose. Where does he go? China, of course. China, where they’ll stick a new nose on you no problem. One catch, it has to go on your forehead.

22-year old, Xiaolian, damaged his original nose in a car accident and needed a new one. He went to visit surgeon, Guo Zhihui, from Fujian Medical University Union Hospital, who constructed a second nose out of the cartilage from his ribs, then put it under the skin on his forehead. The new nose will sit on this guy’s forehead till it is ready to be cut off, skin and all, and placed in its rightful position in the middle of his face. Until then, he waits.

They built the nose completely from scratch, starting with the bridge then the nostrils. The whole process took approximately nine months.

The surgeon said:

We were just interested in helping the man and did not expect it would stir up this much attention

A nose on a forehead deserves all the attention it can get. Imagine the number of ways this guy can perch a pair of shades?
