No doubt many of you would have driven past this debacle en route to your office this morning. If you’re a fan of The Butcherman in Green Point you will be devastated to hear that you’ll have to go elsewhere for the rare and delicious lamb shoulder that you’ll no doubt have been planning to roast this evening with garlic gloves, rosemary and mint – because a car just drove through their front window.

It’s seldom that you find a traffic cop with a sense of humour, but there are obviously some operating in Green Point, because after this idiotic driver ploughed into two shops outside our flat this morning, a couple of tickets were plastered to his window (I can only imagine triumphantly!).

(also: what a moron. Drinking and driving/dicing must be one of the stupidest things anyone can do). Check out the two metal poles on the pavement that he flattened!

FYI: This accident happened on Somerset Road. Car took out the front of Best of Asia (probably its best side), as well as the Butcher Man store.

Traffic tickets? Beautiful.

No word yet on whether any staff at a rival Kloof Street butchery drive a red Audi.
