If you watched the U.S. Open quarterfinal match on Thursday you experienced a little blast from the past. Andy Murray, defending U.S. Open champion,  seemed to channel himself circa 2010 and completely lost it on the tennis court.

He was playing against Stanislas Wawrinka at Arthur Ashe Stadium, and while he was busy making a scene, he lost 6-4 6-3 and 6-2.

In all fairness, Wawrinka was on his A game, and dominated the match. Murray didn’t earn a single break point. It seemed as if all Murray could do was lose his mind, after Wawrinka shot down what seemed like all of Murray’s shots.  He said:

He hit a lot of lines, was going for big shots, and he played too well.

Wawrinka will play in the Grand Slam semifinal against the winner of Thursday’s match between Novak Djokovic and Mikhail Youzhny.

When talking about defeating Murray, Wawrinka said:

Especially to win that match. He’s the defending champion, such a tough opponent. I’m just too happy. It was a crazy match for me.

Check out Murray’s freak out here, priceless.
