As you may know, I’m going to be racing in the Continental #Run2Stop challenge this November. If you didn’t catch the breakdown of the event, you can read that here.
As the designated “blogger” for my team, I’ll be doing the driving charity legs of the race, as well as instagramming photos of flowers and/or long stretches of road. The gist of it is that every day for five days, a challenge will be given to me to help out a local community at one of our stops. But here’s the kicker – my team can’t continue the race until I’ve completed the designated task.
Obviously this means I have to start a fairly serious training regime including a nutritional diet, weights, and finger-punching bags of gravel. If you have any secrets or tips, be a sport and share them with me so that my team can win this thing! There are a lot of surprises in store for us throughout this journey, and I’m going to need your help along the way, so make sure to follow the race here – I’ll give daily updates to let you know where we are and if I’m surviving the endurance of #Run2Stop.
You can also track the race via their Facebook page and the Twitter feed.
My preparation will include:
This is what happened at #Run2Stop last year.
Here’s the best part – Continental is looking for two cyclists and two runners capable of enduring 170kms of running and 600 kms of cycling over five days.
Now this might sound like a “fun” challenge for the gym boets, but there are no full length mirrors on the open road, so you won’t have a good time unless you’re a serious endurance athlete.
If you think you can handle that – head over to run2stop.com, submit your details. If you make it through the assessment phase, you could be joining my team.
