The body of a University of Cape Town student was found in Newlands Forest on Monday.
Ilan Belcher, 19, went hiking with his brother on Sunday, and decided to continue hiking after his brother went home.
Authorities think he may have slipped and fell, although details are sketchy at the moment.
Merle Collins of Table Mountain National Park said, “He was positively identified after the body was retrieved […] it was a very sad occasion.”
