We trust you caught the last Gupta-TV sports report clip we posted (here), which was incredibly amazing. But I’m afraid it does not compare to this one. This is very special.

Shame, look how she squints at the teleprompter. Why would they punish her and their news channel by putting her in front of the camera for the first time (surely?) for the whole continent to see?

Is that fair?

It’s like a school play. Or a school project. Like when the class is asked to play a game of “news news.”

It reminds me of the days of George W Bush – when I would turn up the TV if I saw him giving a speech – purely to laugh my ass off. That’s what we’re dealing with here with Gupta TV. It’s so amateurish, it should possibly be positioned just after the Comedy Central channel on DSTV’s ‘bouquet.’

And going for CNN’s vibe by calling it ANN7. Weird. Only difference is it sounds like an online porn website alias.

According to Channel24:

They were quickly at a loss for words as viewers suddenly heard the floor crew or the control room voice which viewers are not supposed to hear.

Presenter Carolyn Samuels on the left starting making faces, trying to signal the floor crew and control room, then mouthing words, and eventually even talking to people off screen.

Viewers could hear Samuels saying to her co-presenter “Good one” while the sport clip played – something viewers are not supposed to hear.

Once the long sport clip ended – abruptly – more embarrassement followed, first with silence. “Hello.” “We’re back from the break,” said Samuels, followed by more silence and vacant staring.

There were more sound problems, more control room voice and then Samuels talking to the control room. “Great stuff. Ja, please.”

That was followed by more silence, more odd deer-in-the headlights staring and then suddenly Table Mountain.

ANN7 broke away from Game On! and started showing a litany of long promos until Game On! on ANN7 suddenly returned and started right over as if none of it happened.
