An award-winning author and principal of a high profile private school in White River has been fired following his arrest for child pornography – you can’t trust anyone these days. This guy, who won’t be named until he pleads, has been arrested in connection with an international child pornography syndicate along with six other “professionals” ranging from teachers, lawyers, and dermatologists, to businessmen.
Over the weekend, police raided several homes all over the country confiscating 672 DVDs, 22 memory sticks, eight laptops, two computer tablets, 39 external hard drives, and 25 books containing child porn. The police were tipped off when raids carried out in Canada in June pointed the investigation to South Africa. They have now managed to bring down an international syndicate they have been investigating since 2009 and they are now trying to establish if the material was manufactured in South Africa.
Its scary how popular child-porn has become amongst educators, the people we entrust with our children. Keep on eye on them. Be vigilant. This guy is out on R1,000 bail and has (at least) been fired from the school.
