What is it with politicians that they feel the need to say/text/email really inappropriate things, when they know it will be recorded and archived forever? The latest of these is from ex-American president Richard Nixon. Tricky Dicky, as he was known after the Watergate scandal, was no stranger to controversy – like, you know, Watergate scandal.

The last set of Nixon White House tapes have been released, and they do nothing if not further confirm that he was rotten to the core. He’ has been recorded saying things like, “Goddamn his Jewish soul!”, “Blacks can’t run [Jamaica]. Nowhere, and they won’t be able to for a hundred years, and maybe not for a thousand,” and,

No Jews. We are adamant when I say no Jews… But Mexicans are important. Italians, Eastern Europeans. That sort of thing.

Even after death, Nixon reminds us what’s wrong with the world.
