Man Loses The Ability To Feel Sad After Suffering Stroke

68-year-old, Malcom Myatt of England, will never be sad again. After spending 19 weeks in the hospital due to a stroke he suffered, doctors told him the frontal lobe of his brain had been destroyed. That’s the section of the brain that controls emotions.

Myatt is looking on the bright sad, because that’s his only option. He says:

I am never depressed. Being sad wouldn’t help anything anyway. I would definitely rather be happy all the time than the other way round. It’s an advantage really.

Myatt’s wife, Kath Myatt said:

He’s very childish now. It’s infectious. When Malcolm starts laughing everyone in the room does

Experts confirm that psychological, emotional and behavioural changes are not uncommon in people who have suffered from strokes, but it all comes down to what part of the brain has been damaged.
