Cell C for yourself, the power is in your hands! Or not. Cell C’s promises don’t seem to be worth the paper they’re written on. The Independent Communications Authority of South Africa’s most recent assessment of service quality has found that Cell C has the worst rate of dropped calls of all cellphone operators in Johannesburg.
The online consumer website, HelloPeter, has over 11,000 complaints about the cellphone operator, which were logged over the past year. They have a little under 1,000 compliments, but the complaints grossly outweigh them. One of their customers had this to say,
I have missed 655 calls in six months. I drop between five and 10 calls a day. My friends, clients and colleagues often can’t reach me even though my phone is on
Clearly, there is no power in this guy’s hands.
You can take a look at some of the complaints and compliments, here.
Cell C have taken note of the report of their poor network service and are upgrading their network to accommodate more capacity as the traffic on our network has doubled over the past year. We can only hope it improves.
