Come to Switzerland – see the Alps, blow a horn, wear a funny hat and, as of 26 August, shag a prostitute in a sex-box. These bus-stop like “sex-boxes” have been erected west of Zurich in a former industrial area to maximise romance – no, safety – for the country’s sex-workers.

Car drivers (no pedestrians or bikers allowed) will cruise down a specially marked route laden with ladies of the night, pick their fancy, drive up to a sex-box and do business. The boxes are covered with posters advertising safe sex and condom use. Alarms have also been installed incase the clients get a bit too rowdy.

Prostitution is legal in Switzerland (well, obviously) and this initiative plans to help combat the pimps and provide a safer working environment for the tax-paying woman. The boxes will be open from early evening till 05h00 each day.
