A Step-By-Step Guide To Uploading Pre-Shot Videos To Vine

Is Vine restricting your creative expression? Do you often find yourself thinking, if I could only use my own editing suite, and recording device, and create to the ability that only I know I'm capable of, my Vine video could blow the minds of many? If you want to move beyond shooting and editing your 6 second masterpieces within the app, maybe you should try hacking your Vine app.

Is Vine restricting your creative expression? Do you often find yourself thinking, if I could only use my own editing suite, and recording device, and create to the ability that only I know I’m capable of, my Vine video could blow the minds of many? If you want to move beyond shooting and editing your 6 second masterpieces within the app, maybe you should try hacking your Vine app.

If you want to give it a go the steps are:

  1. Cut your video (using  iMovie and Photoshop). It’s best if your video is natively square. Vines are usually 480×480.
  2. Encode the video to confuse Vine. Vine will get so confused, it won’t know where said video came from (use Handbrake).
  3. Confuse your phone’s file system by switching your movie with the current Vine movie in its temporary directory before the app realizes what’s going on (using iExplorer’s demo version).
  4. Pray to a higher power that this works.

It is possible. Good Luck!
