The Billabong XXL Global Big Wave Awards acknowledge the achievements of the world’s finest surfers in the biggest waves, anywhere in the world. Twiggy Baker caught this beast last week.

Shot at Sunset reef off Kommetjie, the photo was captured by SA’s leading surf photographer, Ant Fox, who was in the headlines recently, having sold some of his prints to US pop star, Jennifer Lopez.

According to varying estimate, the wave was between 60 and 70 feet high, which comes in at over 21 meters.
