Bicycles are plentiful in Cape Town, and the city hosts the world renowned Cape Argus Cycle Tour. In recent years the bicycle community has grown exponentially, resulting in a battle for road space between motorists and cyclists.

The online Cape Town Bicycle Map launched by Ride Your City offers bike commuters a safer and more detailed layout of preferred routes, along with many other features. The map is available both online and on smartphones via the app.

Gail Jennings, sustainability mobility specialist and publisher of the Bicycle Map said:

The Cape Town Bicycle Map was developed to highlight cycling infrastructure and connecting routes to encourage more people to cycle.

We have identified a network of safer, connected routes (recommended by people who cycle regularly on our roads), located bicycle infrastructure, parking, and bicycle-friendly venues, and included information about cyclists’ rights, responsibilities and signage.
