Derek Medina shot and killed his wife Jennifer Alfonso, apparently because Alfonso had told her husband she was leaving him. The crazy part? Medina posted a Facebook statement confessing to the murder, as well as posting a picture of his dead wife.

A police statement details the couple having an intense argument, starting upstairs and making its way downstairs into the kitchen. Medina confronted his wife with his gun resulting in Alfonso arming herself with a knife. Medina removed the knife from his wife’s hands, at which point she started punching Medina. Medina then fired several shots at his wife, resulting in her death.

Medina then posted this Facebook statement.

A second post by Medina showed a gory picture of his dead wife.

Facebook removed the picture some five hours after he had posted it. Facebook spokesperson said:

The content was reported to us. We took action on the profile – removing the content and disabling the profile, and we reached out to law enforcement. We take action on all content that violates our terms, which are clearly laid out on our site.

Medina turned himself into the Miami-Dade Police.
