A large 366m diameter pentagram has been carved into the surface of the Earth in a remote area of Kazakhstan. It is so large that it can be clearly seen via satellite. Up until now, pundits have been mystified and intrigued by the pattern, but an archaeologist may be able to shed some light on the mystery. Experienced archaeologist Emma Usmanova said:

It is the outline of a park made in the form of a star.

Well, that was an anticlimax.

Usmanova explained that when the country was part of the Soviet Union, the star was a popular symbol. Today this Soviet-era lakeside park is marked using roadways and lines of trees which is very clear from an aerial photograph.

Prior to the mundane explanation, hundreds on internet messaging boards suggested the area where the pentagram is situated could be a devil worshipping site for “denizens of the underworld”. Some have noted that when you zoom in on the image on Google Maps there are two places on the pentagram. One is named Adam and the other is Lucifer.
