Mark Shuttleworth is at it again, changing the future into how we always envisioned it to be… like the Jetsons. But with better hair. Using crowdfunding website, Indiegogo, Shuttleworth is asking donors to contribute towards creating a smartphone that is more powerful than a desktop computer. The phone, which will run on Shuttleworth’s Ubuntu, can be connected to a keyboard and screen to simulate the computer in your home or office.
Phones like this don’t come cheap. The phone’s specs call for the fastest processor on the market, as much memory as a laptop (4 GB), and 128 GB of storage – twice that of your iPhone! Also, a 4,5-inch screen made of sapphire crystal, which only a diamond can scratch. (Yea boi!) Donors willing to contribute at least $725 towards the $32 million target will get a free “Ubuntu Edge” super smart-phone from the first batch of 40,000.
Let’s make it happen!
