UCT drama student, Rosa Carlyle-Mitchell fell to her death on Sunday night while celebrating her 21st birthday party with friends and family at the Kimberley Hotel on the corner of Roeland and Buitenkant in the Cape Town CBD.

According to bystanders, Rosa fell backwards off of the balcony railing on the top floor. She was pronounced dead on the scene.

Hotel manager Eric Hodson confirmed she had fallen to her death.

Rosa’s parents are expected back in South Africa from an overseas trip today.
