In 2004, Jenny Lee appeared on the Oprah Winfrey Show in 2004 and at the time revealed to Oprah that she had undergone over 25 surgeries. Lee opened up about her long battle with poor self-esteem. Lee said:
When I look at my reflection, I still don’t like what I see. I’m trying to grow to accept what I see… If I could be just OK with it – just OK – I would be very happy.
While on the show, Lee also talked about how her need for perfection and plastic surgery was affecting her daughter Kaleigh.
Her whole life, I’ve been having the plastic surgery, so she doesn’t even know what I look like as a natural person. When my daughter sees pictures of me before I had any surgery, she doesn’t recognise that that’s me. We don’t even look alike.

Are you wondering what has happened to Lee since that interview? Well ‘Oprah: Where Are You Now?‘ did exactly that. Lee didn’t have any surgical procedures for a short period after the show, but that did not last long, and she has had 33 more procedures. Some of her procedures included a circumferential body lift and her fourth rhinoplasty. Lee said:
Now, I look at my nose and go, ‘It’s perfect!’
But all is not well and Lee has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Lee said:
They had told me that weight gain was… a side effect of having [fibromyalgia] I had to really come to terms with the fact that, for once in my life, I’m not in control of my body.
Lee’s already low self-esteem was knocked down even further due to her weight gain (main image). Lee said:
I look at some pictures and go, ‘Whoa, I was really thin in some of those pictures.’ I was the healthiest and the happiest at that time. I miss those days.
