Look, we’ve all thought about buying a wine estate. But never in your wildest dreams did you imagine that the historic Constantia Uitsig estate would be up for grabs. You’ve eaten at La Colombe, right? Well that would be a small part of your new estate. This is the chance for you to mark your place on your family tree in gold filigree – and it won’t come up again in your own lifetime.
Here’s more, from Fine and Country.
Today the farm features award winning wines, three world-renowned restaurants, a private cricket oval, a spa and a 16 bedroomed luxury hotel. Constantia Uitsig produces Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Semillon and red and white Bordeaux blends all noble cultivars ideally suited to the climate in the valley. All Uitsig white wines are screw capped and the farm was one of South Africas screw cap closure pioneers. The Wine Shop caters for the sale of Uitsig wines with a small selection of other boutiques wines, especially from the other estates in the Constantia Valley region. La Colombe, ranked 12th in the San Pellegrino 50 Best Restaurants of the World Awards in 2010.
