Two people have died in a plane crash near Gauteng’s Lanseria Airport this morning.

A light aircraft carrying multiple passengers downed near the the airport on Thursday morning, killing two occupants.

It is not known whether the plane crashed on approach, or take off.

While used on a daily basis for large commercial flights, Lanseria is a popular runway for light aircraft.

Details of the crash are unclear, and will be confirmed by Lanseria Airport officials as more information becomes available.
