Agnieszka Radwanska, female world number four tennis player has posed nude for the cover of ESPN The Magazine’s ‘Body Issue’. Her decision does not sit well with the Polish Catholic group Krucjata Mlodych (Youth Crusade). The group runs a campaign “I’m not ashamed of Jesus”.
The 24-year-old Catholic tennis player’s nude photographs are too revealing for the group. And as a result the Youth Crusade have dropped the tennis player due to her “immoral behaviour”.
This is what Radwanska had to say about her body in an interview with ESPN’s Alan Clarke.
Have you ever felt self-conscious about your body?
AR: I’ve always been much smaller and slighter than my peers. When I played junior tournaments in Poland, I was always playing up an age group, so I was much younger and much smaller than the other kids. The joke used to be that if the wind blew too hard it would blow me away! But that never bothered me and wasn’t a hindrance to my game. I was never intimidated by older girls and never thought about it. I was coached to focus 100 percent on my own game rather than get worked up about the opponent. And now, I believe I’ve gotten physically stronger every year I’ve been on the tour.
