This is the new date the world will end. Don’t stress too much though, it is only in two billion years time. This latest study suggests that before the end of days there will be no animals or plants, only tiny microbes. The end will come because there will be too little carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
Scientists are predicting the world will end in 2,000,002,013 AD, but in less than a billion years, the lack of carbon dioxide will result in plants being unable to photosynthesise. With no plants, the nourishment for herbivores will be gone and soon so will they. Carnivores will die out if their food source is not available and that leaves only microbes. The aging sun will result in increaased levels of radiation that will in turn evapourate the Earth’s oceans.
Jack O’Malley-James, astrobiologist of St Andrews Univeristy said:
The far future earth will be very hostile to life. By the time all life has disappeared from the planet, we’re left with a nitrogen and carbon-dioxide atmosphere with methane being the only sign [that once it harboured life].
