For those of you who don’t know what a Goldberg Machine is, you have obviously never had the luxury of playing the classic board game, Mouse Trap. A Goldberg Machine is in fact a kind of contraption that deliberately performs a simple task, in a complex and over-the-top manner.
Purina’s Beneful, a dog food and snacks brand, has cleverly used this kind of device or Dog Goldberg Machine in their new advertising campaign. The gadget is set off by dozens of dogs playing around a fun course, with the ultimate message being, “Play, It’s Good For You.”
According to Mashable the CEO of DeepFocus who created the ad was not sure how many takes the intricate process took, but he did have this to say. “[I’ll] put it this way, It wasn’t easy. It was a very long day.”
