Although this campaign was released last month, we can’t ignore its awesomeness.
There is nothing better than an ice-cold Coke and the Atlanta-based Coca-Cola Co in Cartagena Colombia, along with Ogilvy & Mather Columbia, decided to use some fun to get this icy point across.
A special edition bottle was created in the shape of the traditional glass/plastic Coke bottle – except this time it was made from ice. These bottles were then handed out to the public on the toasty beachfront. The ice-cold bottles did not only quench the thirst of the drinkers, it also acted as an eco-friendly packaging. Once finished with the drink, the bottle simply melted away – no pollution, no hassel.
According to the Coca-Cola company website the bottles were made by “pouring micro-filtered water into silicone molds, then freezing the water to-25 °C and filling the molds with Coke.” Each bottle comes with a rubber branded band, making it possible for the user to hold the bottle without getting that frozen hand sting.
