As usual, it wasn’t easy picking this week’s ‘Naughty Hipster Of The Week‘ – our weekly competition exposing local hipsters who go that extra mile. But this guy’s earmuffs will blow your mind.
So here is this week’s winning entry, sent in by Malherbe Pelser. The clock is ticking, as this hipster has 24 hours to come forward to win a pair of Pumas, otherwise the person that snapped this pic, gets the shoes.
On Sunday morning we were enjoying a seriously delicious breakfast at Tamboerswinkel in Little Camissa with friends.
All of a sudden a totally funk-induced hipster flashed across on his skateboard down De Lorentz street with his skateboard wheels matching his satchel and his satchel matching his ridiculously oversized headphones. Hell, even his black shoes matched the colour of the sweater he had tied around his waist.
Now in isolation this all might seem fairly standard fair. However, approximately 10 minutes after disappearing around the corner into Kloof Street for the first time our hero once again made the mad rush with his mad skillz down De Lorentz street.
I was distraught after failing to pull out my phone to take a photo of his second run in time but one of my friends predicted that the Naughty Hipster will definitely make a third attempt down the hill.
Whether he was doing it because he liked skateboarding or because it would get him street cred is definitely up for debate.
We weren’t left disappointed and I was lucky enough to spot him coming down the hill once more and this time I was able to capture the Naughty Hipster in his natural habitat in all his glory.
We left Little Camissa before we were able to see if he made a fourth attempt down De Lorentz. In my mind this specific Naughty Hipster is still completing his infinite loop of hipsterism down De Lorentz day after day basking in his own authenticity and uniqueness.
And bask he should. He’s simply stunning, and the world would be a poorer place without him.
Good luck!
So, according to our rules, this naughty hipster has 24 hours to contact us with proof that he is the naughty hipster in the photograph. So if you know him, tell him to email editor@2oceansvibe.com and he will get a brand new pair of Puma shoes if he can prove it is him. See Terms & Conditions below.
If he DOESN’T claim the Pumas in 24 hours (12h15 tomorrow) then the person that sent this in (Malherbe, mentioned above) gets the Pumas.
Good luck to the rest of you, as you hunt down your very own naughty hipster.
