American cook and author Paula Deen was given the boot from the Food Network’s lineup on Friday. It was reported that the 66-year-old cooking celebrity’s fate was decided after she admitted to using racial profanities in the past whilst being questioned as part of a lawsuit.
Before the foodie could release the second of her two apology videos, she had already been given the bad news. The first apology video can be seen above.
A statement from the Food Network on Friday went as follows:
Food Network will not renew Paula Deen’s contract when it expires at the end of this month. Network representatives declined further comment. A representative for Deen did not immediately return phone and email messages seeking comment on the decision.
Now, after Deens release, the over 3,6 million fans on the official Food Network Facebook page are not holding back on their thoughts regarding the situation. According to Business Insider, more than 112,000 people are talking about Deen and her former Network slot via social media.
The comments go on for days, but we have selected some of the most “informative” and downright crazy comments from her super fans. If you wish to take part or check out what else is being said, click here.
